Hover Hand

Hover Hand refers to the awkward male gesture of wrapping one’s arm around a woman with the hand hovering directly above her arm, as to avoid any skin-to-skin contact.

Often spotted in casual group photographs, hover hands usually signify that the man feels uncomfortable and/or lacks the confidence required to make physical contact with another female companion.
