Welcoming 2012

December 31, 2011  |  Rants and Raves  |  No Comments

In less than a few hours, we will welcome 2012, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and continuously remind everyone to fill each and every day with optimism, enthusiasm and joyfulness.

It is not an easy task to make New Year resolutions and to stick by them, in fact it can be quite challenging. With our positive attitude, however we can overcome the fear of worrying about every little thing until it becomes big and boring and by then we are already disheartened. But the key is to learn from you past errors and press forward to achieving greater accomplishments.

We should all try to rise above the doubts and accept the transformation of a better self with composure and dignity. There is only one road to gathering the much needed courage to begin 2012 and that my friend is through your heart. The heart is the chaperon that guides you through the change by galvanizing your energies and engaging with all God’s creatures with as much love as possible.

We all need to positively give and receive gratitude and appreciation to everyone around us or at least try our best to acknowledge them. The more you stay within this territory, and share it through  compassionate relationships, carefree laughter, and a deep thankfulness for the life’s ways, you will glow and grow…

So, release all fear and embrace yourself!
Wishing everyone a very Happy 2012

Merry Christmas

Me Time Free Time

December 19, 2011  |  Rants and Raves  |  1 Comment

A lot of people want to have a “It’s my life and I am free” attitude. They want to change and yet they want to be themselves which means they are not really changing for the better at all, but rather as per they convenience.

“ME TIME” or “FREE TIME” these words can be very tricky in our so called free-fallen world.

We all need space and time for ourselves and that is what most of the magazines or various therapists will suggest in this modern world, they would normally recommend to give yourselves at least 10 minutes of Me Time/ Free Time on a daily basis. But I am sure we all will never be satisfied with just 10 minutes (because that is just too less) but even an hour or even a day, would it make a difference if we have it our way? Personally I think it won’t but then that’s me talking on behalf of the whole world .

What the majority of us think about as freedom is truly exploitation of freedom. There are two major issues with this attitude. First is the word “Me”. Now “Me means I” Like I said earlier the so called modern population does not have an indication of who they are but they are more influenced by the surroundings they live in and the situation they are faced with then they act according to what suits them best. What car we drive, how we live, what we wear, who we hang out with, who we want to hang out with. All of this confuses the poor “ME” and hence we become just another fallen human being which I am not saying is not normal. Just thinking out loud!!

The other tacky word is “FREE”. Again (I mention the word) in “modern” times the idea of freedom to do anything that pleases you that very moment which does not give you the license to steal or kill someone. Freedom has limitations.
It also does not mean you can act like a selfish B_ _ _ _ _ or an egotistic B __ _ _ _ _! Now that is purely my point of view. There is a huge difference in doing what fancies you at all cost or abandoning someone to pursue your so called happiness or in other words ME TIME. (I am sorry just can’t stress enough) 🙂

To sum it “It’s ok to restore yourself when you are alone but don’t destroy someone else in the meantime.”

Stressing on the fact that, that we are all not like this intentionally (a BIG maybe) we tend to be very very selfish and to hell with the world attitude doesn’t benefit us for long time but by then it’s too late to.

Most of us are slaves of our qualms and self-centeredness. And if we really want to be free we must begin with outlining freedom by our conscious mind.

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again. ” ― Eric Roth

Resolutions 2012

December 10, 2011  |  Rants and Raves  |  2 Comments

I guess I have been in the mood to take it easy with this tea cozy weather and that time of the year when all you can do is sit and look back  at what all have you achieved in the year gone by.. So let’s put it I have been very lazy and inactive for almost ten days but I have been planning for ahead.

With December here, I think it’s a good time to look forward to 2012 with our traditional resolution making as well as making some tributes, confessions, acceptances and appreciations.

So far for me, I have given some thought and I want to start my 2012 with some new goals, aims, targets, desires and ambitions. It is always nice to start with additional enthusiasm and more notably with some transparency. Has it ever occurred to you, why is it we wait until January 1 to start?

Well, calendar days speak so much of what we do, but why do we have to switch our behavior according to the dates (something I never understood)? For instance if you know that you’d like to cut down a few pounds (yeah, that’s me), why not just do it in October or November or December? Why wait until January 1st same applies to other personal goals regarding finances, learning, travelling, workplace, looks, habits…etc.

However, no matter what, I love the concept of beginning new things at the beginning of a New Year (for how long depends on our individual self and our commitment – but at least we can attempt). There is no better time to start but now!! A few random things I want to get done this coming year are like start on my gym, study (something /somehow), save more, blog more, give my creative side more efforts, Not to say a YES when i want to say a NO, Go to a retreat by myself – then becox I am such a good mom – take my son too !! Oh and get to work on time (or at least have my clothes ready the night before), for sure a negativity clean out , these all are small changes and yet I fall short staying on the right track.

Hope I can be a better person, hope I can let things go, hope I can put in efforts without thinking about the results and worry about what other people have to say if I fail in doing something right. Logically I know this is not correct, for any effort will yield some kind of result.

I believe we must all be committed, like it is the road map for our life and leave the GPS turned on at all times, so we can monitor if we are heading in the right direction. In the end all roads are interconnected and you are bound to find the right path.

So I am going to transition into 2012 and my resolutions are like my baggage, I need to look after them and make sure I do not lose them on the way or pray and hope no one steals them.

Resolution 2012:  Give myself enough room to move in diverse ways as needed and as God would lead. Accepting any new challenges and success are uniquely hush-hush and of my own meaning. But I would love to wish everyone success in fulfilling each one’s own Resolutions and go a long way!!

BTW I got my first crossword book for 2012 🙂 yesterday, I plan to do a page every day at least.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

December 1, 2011  |  Rants and Raves  |  1 Comment

“A marriage anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year”

Today is my parents wedding anniversary – 43 years, Yes 43 years – these days that’s a bit of achievement… however I guess the concept of marriage back was a bit different, people thought twice about separating and most if not all just kept going on through the thick or thin.

I would like to thank them for all that they are, thank you for giving me this life, thank you always for (not) listening and doing the best you could for me and I speaking on behalf of my sister and brother – I think they would feel the same way. Oh and thank you for loving me the most 🙂

Today being a parent myself and facing the various challenges, I can only be thankful for all the time and efforts you both put in our upbringing. It might not have occurred to us today as parents how much our own parents need us, because we are so busy with looking after the needs of our children and our hectic lifestyle, but I am grateful for all the normal family unions, family fights, family occasions, and family involvements in my life. I know as a teenager, my rebel mind and my wrong decision must have given you countless sleepless nights. Well, today I would like to thank you for loving me unconditionally and for having the heart to forgive me for my immaturity.

I know how deeply you both have cared for us, and surrendered a great deal of your lives to make sure we have received the very best, which you consider nothing at all but part of being parents. I want you both to know that no matter what we say to each other during our silent moments or during our arguments (normal stuff) I am pride myself in being your daughter.

I appreciate the love and the values you have passed to us, and I hope we can do the same with our children (except running around behind feeding our children and getting up every time they fall – that’s just too much work and that’s spoiling them.. 😉 – Yes now that is a modern parent talking.

God Bless you both and Once again wishing you both a very Happy Anniversary and many more to come.
