Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad

“A marriage anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity. The order varies for any given year”

Today is my parents wedding anniversary – 43 years, Yes 43 years – these days that’s a bit of achievement… however I guess the concept of marriage back was a bit different, people thought twice about separating and most if not all just kept going on through the thick or thin.

I would like to thank them for all that they are, thank you for giving me this life, thank you always for (not) listening and doing the best you could for me and I speaking on behalf of my sister and brother – I think they would feel the same way. Oh and thank you for loving me the most 🙂

Today being a parent myself and facing the various challenges, I can only be thankful for all the time and efforts you both put in our upbringing. It might not have occurred to us today as parents how much our own parents need us, because we are so busy with looking after the needs of our children and our hectic lifestyle, but I am grateful for all the normal family unions, family fights, family occasions, and family involvements in my life. I know as a teenager, my rebel mind and my wrong decision must have given you countless sleepless nights. Well, today I would like to thank you for loving me unconditionally and for having the heart to forgive me for my immaturity.

I know how deeply you both have cared for us, and surrendered a great deal of your lives to make sure we have received the very best, which you consider nothing at all but part of being parents. I want you both to know that no matter what we say to each other during our silent moments or during our arguments (normal stuff) I am pride myself in being your daughter.

I appreciate the love and the values you have passed to us, and I hope we can do the same with our children (except running around behind feeding our children and getting up every time they fall – that’s just too much work and that’s spoiling them.. 😉 – Yes now that is a modern parent talking.

God Bless you both and Once again wishing you both a very Happy Anniversary and many more to come.
